Oldest movie on Blu-ray?
Does anyone know what the oldest movie to be released in HD is? Blu-ray or HD-DVD if you know. Aside from the absolute oldest, are there any pre-widescreen era films or silent films even released? This page only lists the year the disc was released. I don't have anything older than 1956's Forbidden ...

Year of FILM release
It would be nice if the stats listed the year the film/show was originally released for theaters or TV. This would be more useful than knowing how much the film made, though I wouldn't say get rid of any feature, the more, the more useful. But on that note, does anyone know any pre-widescreen era fi...

Look into dvdpacific or amazon if you can, though there are many price compare sites. Since Deepdiscount consolidated DeepDiscountDVD, DeppDiscountCDs, Books, etc, I'm assuming they had new management take over. I've experienced nothing but delayed orders, and being placed on backorder when the site...

I just find that odd because as far as I knew, the PS3 (my player) when enabled for DD and DTS output only offers conversion to 5.1 (at least those are the only abilities you can pick). If DTS-HD is re-encoded it makes it into DTS 5.1. However, since DTS-ES is a backwards compatible format, it doesn...

Yeah I'd like separate disc releases, but it would be fun for kicks to have a disc that just had the whole trilogy and maybe DD 5.1 or stereo sound (I think I'm right in thinking they were shot in stereo, in any case no less channels than the theatrical release, but probably couldn't fit HD sound fo...

Dave: I still buy DVDs, though obviously the main reason is that no HD version is available and likely won't be soon. Having a lot of B movies on my favorites list means watch em on DVD or perhaps never. Slither on HD-DVD is probably the most aimed at B-movie buffs HD release so far. Yeah there's Ev...

Could the Back to the Future trilogy fit on one disc?
Could they maintain a decent picture and at least DD sound and include the entire back to the future trilogy on one Blu-Ray? It seems like the capacity could allow it. The way one starts how the other ends would make it perfect to watch as one movie, which I've always wanted to do, or offer you choi...

Grindhouse and why it should be in HD
First of all if you didn't like this movie, don't reply, I don't want to start a discussion over whether the movie was good or not. Before I go into other things, I wanna say I'd like to see it released in its theatrical form, as one single movie (the menu could still let you watch just one) with tr...

Thought I might add that I think season 2 actually did offer dts-hd (or whatever was listed on the box), it didn't have a misprinting problem in any case. Just season 1. Also, I just checked highdefdigest.com's review of it and they've edited to say they can't tell what the bitrate is and whether it...

Video resolution info
I posted this in the site features forum as well as it said for discussion of features current and future, then noticed this forum. Anyways, just explaining my double post. On the stats list, it would be nice if it would list/filter the video resolution as well. I know nearly everything is in 1080p,...

Hey, really like the site, very handy. I'm what you'd call a lower level HD lover, that is I don't have a really nice setup but I really enjoy and support HD movies. Have been using an Xbox360 over component for HD-DVD and have a PS3 over HDMI, to a pretty small 1080i set, but the difference is stil...
