Missing Opera info

Post by MrTaxMan »

I added two operas to my collection but the database shows few details about them, such as the studio, codec, size, audio, etc. I bought them from Amazon. Do you add these details manually or does it come from somewhere? I'm talking about:

Bizet: Carmen -- Decca studio

WAGNER: Die Walkure - Sir Simon Rattle / Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra -- BelAir Classiques studio

For a lot of the more rare titles I have to hunt around for details.

These opera titles seem to be very rare so if you can offer Codec, audio and disc size information for them I can update the database.

Thanks!

I like the functionality of your site. It's the first place I come to whenever I get a new disc. Here's details on those two operas:

Bizet: Carmen
(made in UK)
Studio: Decca
MPEG4-AVC
DTS-HD MA 5.1 24-bit
BD-50
Region: none

WAGNER: Die Walkure
(made in UK)
Studio: BelAir Classiques
AVC
DTS-HD MA 5.1
BD-50
Region: none

Thanks for the information on Carmen.

It is great to see someone buying these more eclectic releases.

The Wagner is an import, which is why it is not listed in the database. It is in the Amazon UK database but appears to lack a UPC which will make it impossible to add to your 'collection'.

Does it mention on the Carmen disc if it is 1080i or 1080p?

Does it mention an aspect ratio?

Thanks for your help with this, and I am glad that you find the site useful.

It is perhaps not a common thing to be thankful to MrTaxMan! :D

On the contrary, the Wagner DOES have a UPC. That's how I added it to my collection. (I'm a total geek and even have a hand scanner to read them in.) 3760115304345

The Carmen disc is 1080i 16:9
Wagner is 1080p 16:9

Although it won't display anywhere on my Collection page, the Carmen disc has sort of an odd feature. In addition to the DTS-HD MA 24-bit track, it also has a LPCM 24-bit stereo track. It seems odd to have a lossless stereo track. But that might be for the old-fashioned stereo purists out there.

Ok - thanks again.

I guess I don't display the UPC on the UK details pages - I thought I did.

Having a bar code scanner is the only way to go with cataloguing releases!

I added the data for Carmen which can be seen on the Details Page, including the secondary audio track.

Thanks for helping with this info.
